Schedule Requirement: Monday–Saturday availability between 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Job SummaryThe Motor Vehicle Clerk plays a key role in helping customers navigate important motor vehicle services with accuracy, professionalism, and care. In this position, you’ll work directly with customers both in person and over the phone, delivering a positive experience while ensuring all transactions meet state requirements. You’ll be responsible for processing a variety of motor vehicle transactions, including driver’s licenses, titles, and registrations. You’ll also perform VIN inspections, provide notary services, and conduct road tests. This role requires attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. *We will train the right person! Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess motor vehicle transactions in a fast, accurate, and professional manner Assist customers with driver’s licenses, titles, registrations, notary services, and other MVD transactions Conduct road tests as required Obtain, verify, and review identification and required documentation for authenticity and completeness Accurately complete required forms and collect applicable fees Maintain compliance with all MVD policies, procedures, rules, and regulations Safeguard confidential and sensitive customer information Maintain a balanced cash drawer Provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers Work effectively in a structured, team-oriented environment Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and QualificationsValid Montana Driver’s License (required) Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check Ability to successfully pass a motor vehicle record review Availability to work Monday–Saturday between 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Clear and professional verbal and written communication in English Accurate and efficient computer skills using Windows-based applications Strong organizational and documentation skills Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask Ability to work effectively in a structured team environment
Physical Requirements / Essential FunctionsMust possess the necessary dexterity and fine motor skills to operate standard office equipment, including a telephone, computer, keyboard, printer, fax machine, and copier
