The MY-ICD Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing engaging programs that support the spiritual, educational, and social development of youth at the Islamic Center of Detroit. The role focuses on creating safe, inclusive, and meaningful experiences that strengthen youth identity, leadership, and connection to the masjid and the broader Muslim community.
The coordinator works closely with youth leaders, volunteers, parents, and organization leadership to ensure programs align with Islamic values and the mission of the Islamic Center of Detroit.
Organize youth events such as:
Youth nights
Ramadan and Eid programs
Educational seminars
Social and recreational activities
Manage event logistics including scheduling, materials, and volunteers.
Build strong relationships with youth participants.
Encourage youth leadership and volunteerism within the community.
Provide mentorship and guidance while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Recruit, train, and supervise youth volunteers and mentors.
Schedule volunteers for programs and events.
Maintain communication and coordination with volunteer teams.
Promote programs through social media, flyers, and announcements.
Maintain attendance records and required documentation.
Ensure proper supervision of youth during all programs and events.
Experience organizing programs, events, or youth activities.
