Job Description/ Responsibilities :
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator with over 8+ years of expertise in managing large scale, mission critical database environments. The ideal candidate will have deep hands on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012-2022) and MySQL Server Administration.
MSSQL Server Administration
- Administer and support SQL Server databases (2012-2022) across production, QA, and development environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain HA/DR solutions including:
o Always On Availability Groups
o Distributed Availability Groups
o Replication (Transactional, Merge, Snapshot)
o Log Shipping
o Mirroring
- Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource allocation.
- Implement and manage enterprise grade backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T SQL, SQL Agent Jobs, and custom scripts.
- Monitor database health using tools such as Foglight, SolarWinds, Redgate, and Azure Monitor.
- Plan and execute SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal downtime.
- Enforce database security best practices including RBAC, encryption, auditing, and compliance.
MySQL Server Administration
- Administer and support MySQL databases (5.x / 8.x) across dev, test, and production environments.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of MySQL instances (standalone and clustered).
- Design, implement, and manage replication, clustering, failover, and DR strategies.
- Perform backup, restore, PITR, upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime.
- Lead performance tuning activities including query optimization, indexing strategies, schema design, and capacity planning.
- Handle P1/P2 production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive problem management.
- Implement and enforce database security standards (user/role management, encryption, access controls, compliance).
- Automate routine DBA activities using shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to support business requirements.
- Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, KB articles, and operational documentation.
