Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced MySQL DBA Analyst with strong expertise in managing and supporting MySQL databases across on-premises and AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with database administration, performance tuning, high availability solutions, automation, monitoring, backup and recovery, and cloud-native database services.
Roles & Responsibilitiesa
Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis databases in both on-premises and AWS environments.
Design, implement, and manage database replication and high-availability solutions based on business and application requirements.
Administer and optimize AWS database services including Amazon RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, EC2, and S3.
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify bottlenecks to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
Develop and maintain database monitoring and alerting solutions using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, and MonYog.
Perform database capacity planning, health checks, maintenance activities, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and improve application performance.
Implement and manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Work closely with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams to ensure database security, compliance, patching, and upgrades.
Automate routine database administration and infrastructure tasks using Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Shell Scripting, or Python.
Generate ad hoc reports, provide operational insights, and support business stakeholders as needed.
Participate in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution activities.
Required Skills
10+ years of experience in Database Administration.
Strong hands-on experience with MySQL database administration.
Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis administration.
Expertise in MySQL Replication, High Availability, Backup & Recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies.
Hands-on experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EC2, and S3.
Strong database performance tuning and query optimization skills.
Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, PMM, or MonYog.
Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
Proficiency in Shell Scripting and/or Python.
Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible and AWS CloudFormation.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Cloud certification.
Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Experience supporting large-scale production environments.
Exposure to containerized platforms and cloud-native architectures.
