JOB SUMMARY
This position performs specialized duties in support of high school concurrent student processes related to recruitment, admission, advising and enrollment.
MAJOR DUTIES
Develop a recruitment communication plan designed for concurrent students
Make multiple visits to target high schools to make presentations to prospective concurrent students and their parents
Collaborate with counselors and school administrators to assess their respective needs including; specific course offerings, locations, times, etc
Collaborate with NSU department chairs and associate deans to arrange specific course offerings for high school partners including; specific course offerings, locations, times, etc
Assist high school students with regard to admission and enrollment processes
Act as liaison to Admissions & Recruitment staff and the University Advising Center staff
Assigned as Academic Advisor for all concurrent students
Provide academic advising services to selected continuing students
Conduct midterm grade/progress checks and attendance checks for all concurrent students
Manage admission and intake processes for all concurrent students
Assist with the matriculation of concurrent students to first-time, full-time freshmen status
Create and provide reports to the Executive Director of University Advising
Assess the effectiveness of the Concurrent Student Program
Committee work as assigned
Perform related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of RUSO and institutional policies related to high school concurrent students.
Knowledge of university curriculum and general education/major requirements.
Knowledge of customer service principles.
Knowledge of web site design principles.
Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
Skill in oral and written communication.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Executive Director of University Advising assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include Oklahoma Board of Regents policies, Family Education Rights and Privacy Act regulations, and university policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied specialized duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, current students, prospective high school concurrent students and their parents, high school counselors, and members of the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping.
The work is typically performed in an office.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position will have direct supervision over a Secretary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
