Position Overview
A family in Newton, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced, dependable Driving Nanny for a part-time, live-out position.
Driving is the primary focus of this role, accounting for roughly 80% of the responsibilities. The Nanny will safely transport two school-age children, ages 9–12, from school to home and to their after-school activities throughout the week. The ideal candidate is a confident, safety-conscious driver who is punctual, organized, and comfortable managing a busy weekday afternoon schedule of pick-ups and drop-offs.
When not driving, responsibilities include supervising the children at home, assisting with homework, preparing snacks or simple meals, and supporting afternoon routines. Household cleaning is handled by dedicated staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide approximately 80% of the role as driving and transportation support for the children.
- Safely and reliably pick up two children from school each weekday.
- Transport the children from school to home and to after-school activities, classes, and appointments as needed.
- Manage multiple daily pick-ups and drop-offs while maintaining a punctual and organized schedule.
- Safely navigate Newton and surrounding communities and adapt to changes in traffic, schedules, and activity locations.
- Ensure children are safely buckled and supervised during all transportation.
- Communicate with parents regarding pick-up/drop-off timing, traffic delays, schedule changes, and daily updates.
- Supervise the children at home between activities.
- Provide homework support and encourage age-appropriate independence and study habits.
- Prepare and serve afternoon snacks and simple meals.
- Maintain the children's afternoon routines and activity schedules.
- Tidy up after the children's meals, activities, and play.
- Take on additional child-related responsibilities as the role grows.
Requirements
- Prior professional Nanny experience with school-age children.
- Strong professional driving experience and confidence driving children on a daily basis.
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle in safe working condition, with current registration and insurance.
- Comfortable driving daily throughout Newton and the greater Boston area.
- Able to manage frequent pick-ups and drop-offs and adjust to changing schedules.
- Safety-conscious, responsible, and highly dependable.
- Excellent punctuality and time-management skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to starting.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, warm approach with children and parents.
