Purpose:
The NAPA Store Lead plays a key leadership role within the store by supporting daily operations, delivering outstanding customer service, and assisting Team Leadership, inventory control, and sales execution. This role serves as a working leader on the floor, modeling NAPA standards, coaching team members, and ensuring smooth store operations in the absence of the Location Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead by example to deliver exceptional service to retail and wholesale customers
- Serve customers in-store, by phone, and assist with deliveries as needed
- Support daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Assist with freight check-in, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining store appearance
- Provide accurate parts knowledge and solutions to customers
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, restocking, and organization
- Assist with processing cores, defective returns, and inventory transfers
- Help train, mentor, and support Parts Professionals and Deliver Driver(s)
- Reinforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Assist with scheduling coverage, workflow prioritization, and task delegation
- Step in as acting leader
- Participate in required training, NAPA online courses, and product education
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture

Required Experience:
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- Previous experience in a parts store, automotive, or related industry preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Demonstrated leadership or shift-lead experience preferred
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Basic to intermediate computer and point-of-sale system skills
- Working knowledge of inventory management practices
- Passion for the automotive or equipment industry
- ASE certification or willingness to pursue certification preferred
Working Conditions & Requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds
- Occasional travel as needed
