The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for leading and growing assigned client accounts by serving as the primary point of contact and strategic partner. This role owns day‑to‑day client management, program execution, and cross‑functional coordination while identifying opportunities to drive sales growth, improve execution, and strengthen retailer and client relationships.This role is well‑suited for high‑performing account managers, junior national account managers, or professionals who have supported or worked closely with retail merchants and are seeking broader ownership, impact, and a results‑driven path for growth.The NAM works closely with internal teams, field operations, retailers, and client partners to ensure program compliance, performance optimization, and alignment with business objectives. This role is based in Smyrna, GA, and supports clients with business interests at a major Home Improvement company.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, owning day‑to‑day execution and performanceBuild and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and proactive problem‑solvingPartner cross‑functionally with Senior Management, Field Operations, Customer Service, Analytics, and Reporting teamsIdentify growth opportunities and collaborate with sales leadership to drive incremental revenueAnalyze sales, inventory, and execution data to inform recommendations and performance improvementsLead recurring client calls, providing updates, addressing concerns, and aligning on prioritiesConduct store visits independently or with clients to support planning and executionSupport special projects, training initiatives, or program launches as neededProvide weekend support during peak program or retail blitz periods when requiredQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree required - in lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience may be consideredExperience3–7 years of experience in retail, merchandising, consumer packaged goods, or related rolesExperience supporting or managing HQ‑level retail or category accounts strongly preferredBackground in merchandising, buying, category management, account support, or sales analysis strongly consideredStrong understanding of retail KPIs and metrics that influence merchant decision‑makingTools & TechnologyProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExperience working with proprietary systems for sales tracking, reporting, expenses, and performance managementComfortable using remote business tools such as smartphones, tablets, and laptopsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceEligible to participate in 401(k) retirement plan with company participationPaid time off (PTO) and company holidaysCareer growth opportunities tied to performance and demonstrated business impactCorporate office environment based in Smyrna, GATravel up to 25% to corporate events, company offices, client locations, trade shows, and retail locations, including occasional overnight travelWho Will Thrive in This RoleThis role is ideal for motivated professionals who are eager to begin or accelerate a career in national account management within retail merchandising.
