Position Summary
The National Account Molecular Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert within Medical Affairs responsible for developing and executing strategic scientific engagement across Caris' largest national oncology networks, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), government healthcare systems, and other strategic enterprise accounts.
Reporting to the Director, National Account Molecular Science Liaisons, this role serves as the primary scientific liaison to executive clinical leadership, precision medicine committees, medical directors, pathway leaders, and other key stakeholders. The National Account MSL collaborates closely with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional teams to develop enterprise scientific strategies, support implementation of molecular profiling programs, and align national account objectives with field medical execution. This position plays a key role in advancing precision oncology initiatives, strengthening scientific partnerships, and expanding access to comprehensive molecular profiling across enterprise healthcare organizations.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the Medical Affairs scientific lead for assigned national oncology networks, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), government healthcare systems, and other strategic enterprise accounts.
• Develop and execute enterprise scientific engagement strategies aligned with Medical Affairs and organizational priorities.
• Establish and maintain scientific relationships with executive clinical leadership, precision medicine committees, medical directors, pathway leaders, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Deliver balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange regarding molecular diagnostics, biomarkers, comprehensive genomic profiling, and precision oncology.
• Lead and participate in Molecular Tumor Boards (MTBs), scientific advisory meetings, educational programs, and clinical discussions.
• Translate emerging clinical evidence into meaningful scientific discussions that support patient care and precision medicine adoption.
• Support enterprise precision medicine initiatives, workflow optimization, biomarker implementation, quality improvement projects, and educational collaborations.
• Partner with Regional Molecular Science Liaisons and Medical Affairs leadership to align enterprise strategy with regional field execution.
• Develop enterprise account profiles, stakeholder maps, engagement plans, executive reports, dashboards, and strategic analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Pathology Operations, Informatics, and Business Development to support coordinated customer engagement.
• Monitor molecular diagnostics trends, precision oncology advancements, and competitive intelligence, communicating relevant insights to Medical Affairs leadership.
• Represent Caris Medical Affairs at national, regional, enterprise, and government scientific meetings, advisory boards, and educational programs.
• Support scientific engagement with Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), and other government healthcare systems, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, PA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of five (3) years of Oncology Medical Affairs, Molecular Science Liaison, or equivalent scientific field experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in oncology, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, biomarkers, and comprehensive genomic profiling.
• Experience engaging executive clinical leaders within complex healthcare organizations.
• Excellent scientific communication, presentation, relationship management, and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 75% domestically.
• Residence near a major U.S. airport hub.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and general working knowledge of the Internet for business use.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting integrated delivery networks (IDNs), community oncology networks, or enterprise healthcare organizations.
• Experience working with Veterans Affairs (VA) and/or Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare systems.
• Experience leading Molecular Tumor Boards.
• Experience developing and executing enterprise scientific engagement strategies.
• Experience with molecular diagnostics, precision oncology implementation, or biomarker-driven clinical programs.

Physical Demands

• Ability to travel extensively by commercial airline and automobile.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and present for extended periods during customer meetings, conferences, and educational programs.
• Ability to transport presentation materials and equipment consistent with normal business travel requirements.
• Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods.

Training

• All job-specific, safety, compliance, and regulatory training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this position.

Other

• This position requires up to 75% domestic travel.
• Candidates should reside near a major U.S. airport hub to facilitate frequent national travel.
• Position may require overnight travel, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs, scientific meetings, customer engagements, and conferences.
• Participation in national scientific conferences, advisory boards, and enterprise customer meetings is expected.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support evolving business and Medical Affairs priorities.
