Purpose: The Supervisor - National Business Development is responsible for leading and developing the National Business Development team, ensuring the team consistently generates qualified pipeline at the national level. This role combines hands-on training, day-to-day team supervision, and direct coordination with the National Sales Manager and National Account Managers to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy across the National Business Development function. The Supervisor is the accountable leader for the team's results, headcount, performance, and operational rhythm - translating national sales strategy into the daily work of the team.

The Blueprint for Success - Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise the National Business Development team, including ongoing performance management, coaching, and accountability for individual and team results.
  • Own training and onboarding for new and existing National Business Development Representatives - call structure, objection handling, product knowledge, and sales technique.
  • Work directly with the National Sales Manager and National Account Managers to ensure a cohesive strategy across National BD and outside sales - including target accounts, messaging, handoff process, and territory coverage.
  • Set and maintain the team's daily and weekly operational rhythm: activity expectations, cadence, KPI tracking, and one-on-ones with direct reports.
  • Track and report on team performance metrics - calls, contacts, conversations, qualified opportunities created and attended meetings - to the National Sales Manager.
  • Submit and verify payroll for direct reports on the established payroll cadence, including hours, incentive calculations, and any adjustments.
  • Interview and hire new National BD Representatives as the team grows, partnering with the Marketing Hiring & Training Manager on sourcing and evaluation.
  • Identify performance trends, training gaps, and process improvements; recommend and implement changes that improve team output.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the commercial roofing industry, our service offerings, and our value proposition for national accounts.
  • Lead by example through occasional individual contribution - taking the most complex prospect conversations or stepping in on critical opportunities when needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the National Sales Manager.

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Demonstrated success as a top-performing SDR or Business Development Representative, with a proven ability to generate qualified national pipeline.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or coaching other sales development representatives - formally or informally.
  • Strong organizational and operational discipline, with the ability to maintain a structured team rhythm and reporting cadence.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with outside sales leadership and account management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with direct reports, peers, and senior leadership.
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in all internal and external interactions.
  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems, dialers, and standard productivity tools.

Preferred:

  • Commercial roofing or building services industry knowledge.
  • Prior people leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Process oriented.
