Job Description
- Serve as the primary advisor for the school's National Junior Honor Society chapter.
- Ensure the chapter operates in accordance with National Junior Honor Society bylaws, school policies, and national guidelines.
- Coordinate the student application, selection, induction, and membership processes in collaboration with the Faculty Council.
- Organize and oversee the annual NJHS Induction Ceremony and other chapter recognition events.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise student officers and support the development of student leadership skills.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor chapter meetings throughout the school year.
- Develop and oversee individual and group service projects that benefit the school and community.
- Monitor and document members' fulfillment of service hour and participation requirements.
- Maintain accurate membership records, meeting minutes, service logs, and other chapter documentation.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, faculty, administration, and community organizations regarding NJHS activities and expectations.
- Prepare annual reports and complete required documentation for the National Honor Society organization and school administration.
- Manage the chapter budget and oversee fundraising activities in accordance with district policies, when applicable.
- Promote the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character throughout the school community.
- Supervise students during NJHS-sponsored meetings, service projects, ceremonies, and events.
- Encourage academic excellence, ethical leadership, and civic responsibility among members.
- Coordinate officer elections and provide leadership training for newly elected officers.
- Collaborate with school staff and community partners to identify volunteer and service opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student applications and selection decisions.
- Perform other duties related to the successful operation of the National Junior Honor Society chapter as assigned by the building principal.
- 7 Club meetings per year with minutes documented & Sign in sheet (turned into MS ASB Advisor)
- Fundraising 1 per year minimum
