National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Advisor

Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Subject: National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Advisor The following position is being advertised for the 2026-2027 school year: Brockton Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to serve as the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Advisor at each of the following schools- North MS, South MS, East MS, West MS, Ashfield MS, Plouffe MS, and Davis K-8 School. The advisor will support and mentor student members while promoting the core pillars of NJHS: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. This individual will coordinate chapter activities, meetings, service opportunities, and the annual selection and induction process while creating meaningful opportunities for students to develop as leaders within their school and community. Qualifications

• Certified staff member at the identified school (North, South, East, West, Ashfield, Plouffe, and Davis)
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with middle school students and foster student leadership.
• Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.
• Commitment to the NJHS pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship, with willingness to coordinate meetings, service activities, membership processes, and the annual induction ceremony. Responsibilities
• Collaboratively develop bylaws with NJHS advisors of other BPS middle schools
• Participate in online professional development provided by NJHS
• Participate in the NJHS Advisor Online Community, including reading Advise magazine and visiting NJHS website to stay informed about activities, policies, and procedures
• Organize and supervise bi-weekly NJHS meetings with students after school, working with the chapter's NJHS officers
• Organize school's faculty panel for school's NJHS chapter, such as for application consideration
• Be familiar with and uphold national NJHS constitution and the school's NJHS chapter bylaws
• Collaborate with school leaders to organize and hold an annual induction ceremony
• Support and supervise NJHS members' collaborative goal-oriented service projects
• Work with the principal and the Coordinator of Accelerated Programs to build and strengthen the NJHS at the middle schools
• Anticipated commitment beyond the contractual day is approximately 30 hours for the year. Compensation- Level Two Extracurricular Stipend- $2,000 as noted in BEA contract. Funding Source- Title IV Interested candidates should apply no later than September 30, 2026 to the following form
