National Sales Manager - Freight Forwarding

NSM – National Sales Manager   

•    Responsibility for all sales activities within the national organisation

•    Acquiring and managing clients in line with Sales Outdoor tasks, including

•    New client acquisition V/A

•    Expanding the existing client base V/A

•    Strategic Account Planning (SAP) for the VA’s target customers

•    Compliance with guidelines from the Vertical, Consignee Selling Trips and Tradelane program

•    Responsible for and the main point of contact regarding products, Verticals and Tradelanes, with a view to implementing these within the national sales organisation

•    Monitoring the Personal Target Account of the local sales teams and leading Strategic Account Planning

•    Deciding (together with the Country Director and Regional Sales Manager) on the number, staffing and structure of sales offices

•    Recruiting Sales Outdoor / Sales Indoor staff together with the Country Director and in consultation with the RSM

•    Identifying and developing sales talent (rookies)

•    Nominating potential Global Target Accounts to the Global Sales Team via the RSM

•    Responsible for looking after international visitors, together with the Branch Manager and CD

•    Ensuring compliance with the sales manual within their area of responsibility

•    Reports to the CD on disciplinary matters and to the RSM on operational matters.

•    Technical responsibility – and, in coordination with the RMD, RSM and CD, partial disciplinary responsibility – for all sales staff within the national organisation

Performance indicators

•    Number of new customers acquired

•    Expansion of the existing customer base

•    Support for / success of CST, Tradelane and Verticals

•    Retention of key staff within the sales team and activities relating to the recruitment process

•    Successful implementation of Strategic Account Planning.

•    Overall target achievement / success of the team led

•    Targets of the national organisation in terms of BSN / EBIT

Salary: 130k-150K plus bonus/commission depending on experience.
