What you will do . . .
Act as lead engineer and/or supervise assigned engineer on Abandoned Mine Land (AML) project design
Take lead role in selection of consultants to provide professional design services
Develop scope of work and assist in negotiating consultant contracts
Oversee consultant work in accordance with contracts
Review reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates developed by consultants and assist with contractor bidding process on in-house and consultant developed projects (e.g., review of contractors' bids and recommendation of award)
Manage AML Emergency Engineering Program including investigation, design, & construction oversight
Provide technical assistance and guidance to various Division programs and lower lever engineers, administrative personnel, consultants, contractors, landowners, and public officials and other interested parties
Starting hourly pay of $44.38/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $63.41/hr.
There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to Pay Rate and Longevity Tables | Department of Administrative Services.
Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board AND 2 yrs. exp. as registered professional engineer of which 12 mos. was as Natural Resources Engineer 3, 85743 or 12 mos. equivalent related engineering experience.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.
