Job Description:
The Navigator will conduct outreach to justice and community organizations to receive client referrals for the Service Coordination program. The Navigator will be responsible for screening clients to determine enrollment eligibility. This position will connect clients to community resources and provide ongoing support to help young adults achieve goals and objectives.
Qualifications of the Navigator:
· Microsoft Office Skills
· Good computer skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Relates well to young adults ages 18-24
· Passion for helping others
· Ability to problem solve, work on a team, use data to guide work
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Assist young adult in creating goals and objectives
· Determine appropriate services to help young adults achieve goals
· Manage deliverables to meet expectations and deadlines
· Administer life skills Assessments
· Enter case notes and client information in a database
· Empowerment of clients in a manner that is supportive and objective
· Create transition plan for young adults as they complete goals
· Attend monthly meetings

WHAT’S IN THE NAME
The framework behind the name of our organization came from a sermon titled “A Knock At Midnight” preached by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.- which was later published in a book entitled, The Strength To Love. Being educated on the nuances of the civil rights movement for over 15 years, the one thing that stuck with one of our founders, Minister Johnny Banks Sr.

A Knock At Midnight, NFP (AKAM) is a non-for-profit, 501© (3) community- based organization established in September of 2003, located on the south side of Chicago, Illiniois. AKAM primarily focuses on providing direct services in the communities of Auburn Gresham, Englewood, West Englewood, and West Chatham. However, our services are also extended throughout the city and surrounding surburban areas.
