Description
The NC Boost Success Coach assists with program recruitment and provides comprehensive academic, career, and personal support to a caseload of students enrolled in the NC BOOST program. This position plays a pivotal role in promoting student persistence, retention, and graduation through proactive advising, individualized engagement, and holistic support from enrollment to completion.
Detailed Work Activities
- Deliver proactive, holistic academic advising and intrusive coaching for assigned BOOST students.
- Review and monitor student academic performance using institutional data systems;identifyand support at-risk students.
- Conduct regular outreach via meetings, phone calls, and email to promote engagement, accountability, and goal attainment using individualized student success plans to address academic progress, personal development, and career goals.
- Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and staff to coordinate interventions and connect students with college and community resources.
- Assistwith student recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for the BOOST program.
- Plan and facilitate student workshops, success seminars, and community-building events.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all student interactions, advising notes, and progress reports.
- Participate in team meetings, assessment activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to program data collection, reporting, and evaluation of outcomes.
- Create and distribute detailed reports on enrolled student data to support data-driven decisions for Boost Applicants.
- Generate and analyze CRM reports to assess applicant pools.
- Act with integrity, maintain confidentiality, and uphold the mission of the North Carolina Community College System, the NC Boost program, and the partner colleges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Education, Counseling, social sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in academic advising, student services, or related higher education roles.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Two years of direct academic advising or success coaching experience.
