    Description

    We are seeking dedicated Per Diem Registered Nurses (RN) to join Palo Healthcare, a trusted healthcare agency partner. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing services. 

    This role offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative team dedicated to improving patient outcomes through expert care and meticulous attention to detail. The RN will be responsible for managing patient care plans, administering medications, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

    All Shifts (7-3, 3-11, 11-7) available, Weekdays & Weekends.

    Responsibilities

    Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.

    Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, suturing, and wound care, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.

    Monitor patients' conditions continuously, recognizing signs of acute pain or deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly to the healthcare team.

    Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate specialty areas such as cardiology, ophthalmology, or critical care when applicable.

    Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.

    Provide patient education on medication administration, post-operative care, or chronic disease management to promote health literacy.

    Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing or imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when necessary.

    Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care, providing instructions for home & community care, and ensuring smooth transitions for patients across various settings.

    Requirements

    A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting

    Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents.

    Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date

    Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.

    BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
