NCDIT - Business Analyst - Junior

Job Summary (List Format):

- Serve as a Business Analyst supporting application rationalization and business architecture initiatives for the State of North Carolina's Department of Information Technology (DIT).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and optimize the state's application and IT systems portfolio.
- Identify and analyze redundant, obsolete, or underutilized applications to inform decisions on retirement, consolidation, replacement, or optimization.
- Support the development of strategies and roadmaps to streamline applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards.
- Assist in creating and documenting business architecture models, aligning business processes with technology solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements, analyze system dependencies, and identify pain points in workflows.
- Ensure technology solutions and rationalization efforts support the overall business architecture framework.
- Deliver support and design for applications requiring integration with statewide systems.
- Interact with executive-level business users and technical experts to communicate technical and functional concepts effectively.
- Identify process improvements, best practices, and standards to ensure high-quality IT services and products.
- This is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence as requested.


Required Qualifications:

- 3-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, focusing on application portfolio management, business architecture, or IT strategy.
- Proven experience in app rationalization or business architecture, particularly within large or public sector organizations.
- Strong understanding of business processes, systems integration, and the software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of application development and large, complex implementations.
- Ability to convey technical concepts and identify improvements to project standards.
- Experience working with executive stakeholders and integrating applications across statewide systems.
