NCDOT - Database Administrator- Expert

Job Summary (List Format):

- Work under the direction of a data architect to support the State's DMV data initiatives.
- Conduct data profiling, data analysis, and data cleansing to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Design, implement, and manage both logical and physical database models, including creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and ERDs.
- Develop and optimize database schemas, application objects (tables, indexes, views), and performance tuning strategies.
- Create data requirements, data maps, and rules for data cleansing processes.
- Support database implementation, data conversion, and ongoing data governance activities.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into target databases.
- Utilize data cleansing tools to improve data quality and resolve data issues.
- Collaborate in a team environment and independently on highly complex projects.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple work streams, meet deadlines, and provide input and feedback to team members.
- Apply advanced industry knowledge and experience, including proficiency in DB2 and SQL Server database management systems.
- Create and execute test cases to validate data and database functionality.
- Analyze large datasets to dissect complex problems and generate actionable insights.
