NDT Assistant Technician
The NDT Assistant Technician is responsible for supporting NDT Level II Technicians in the performance of non-destructive examinations on natural gas and oil pipeline. The Assistant Technician will assist with equipment setup, site preparation, inspection activities, documentation, and general field operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop a career in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) industry through hands-on experience and training in various inspection methods and field environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Actively participate in Company and Client safety programs and initiatives.
- Assist certified NDT Technicians with ultrasonic, magnetic particle, visual, and other NDT inspections.
- Prepare inspection equipment, tools, and materials for field projects.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, organization, and readiness for deployment.
- Assist with equipment setup, calibration verification, and operational checks as directed.
- Support inspection activities by gathering data, recording measurements, and documenting findings.
- Follow established inspection procedures, safety policies, and quality requirements.
- Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and staging equipment and materials.
- Recognize, communicate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Support field crews, project managers, and technicians as required.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with customers and team members.
- Adhere to Company Code of Conduct and Expectations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 100% nationwide travel required).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
- Willingness to work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
- Previous experience in industrial, pipeline, construction, or mechanical trades preferred.
- Previous NDT experience or formal NDT training preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial tools and equipment preferred.
- Interest in pursuing ASNT certification and advancement within the NDT field preferred.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Basic mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to learn NDT methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in customer-facing environments.
- Ability to adapt to changing field conditions and project requirements.

Wage: $22-$24 / hr, paid weekly

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- work safely in industrial and construction environments.

- Exposure to industrial facilities, active construction sites, and pipeline right-of-ways.

- Lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier.
- Use hand and power tools; maintain manual dexterity for fine tasks.
- Work in elevated areas up to 50 ft (ladders, lifts, scaffolds, catwalks).
- Work in confined spaces (manholes, tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
- Travel long distances to job sites as needed.
- Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) and balance
