Overview
Focus Factory Training (D794) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated NDT Instructor for long term travel to support strategic sourcing initiatives at the various Focus Factories. This position will report to the Chief of Training for Strategic Sourcing and will report to the applicable on-site Chief of Training when traveling.
Instructors will be assigned to Business Travel and/or Extended Work Assignments at Focus Factory locations, including but not limited to: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Florence, South Carolina; Jacksonville, FL; Mobile, Alabama and other locations as assigned.
The instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of supplier staff in various courses related to various NDT processes and as well as additional NDT related courses. Qualified candidates will have a strong commitment to Safety and Procedural Compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Candidates must also be driven by a desire to develop themselves and others, as well as possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor.
Responsibilities & Duties
The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:
- Instructing multiple NDT related classroom courses
- Provide quality oversight of supplier embedded instructors to support site training needs
- Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests
- Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits
- Assessing student performance & identifying non-conformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
- Supporting various course content reviews and related activities
- Conducting assessments as needed/scheduled
- Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork
- Meeting with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed
- Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
- Communicate with other team members to advance work & communicate issues
- Supporting special training projects as required
- Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned
- Ready to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as needed
Work Schedule
The selected candidate will be assigned the following schedule:
- General first shift hours (7:00am 3:30pm) with flexibility to adjust hours to support 2nd & 3rd shifts as needed with flexibility to support
- Ability to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)
- Ability to support business travel approximately 75+% annually

Minimum of 4 years of NDT trade experience

Minimum of 2 years of work experience at Electric Boat
Instructing/teaching experience (formal or informal)
Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS ETC)
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced educational course work including certifications, Associates or other advanced education degree
Currently qualified in NDT process

Experience with various business systems, i.e. SRT/LMS, PQS, ATA
Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and OneNote
Business Travel/EWA experience
