Job Description

SUMMARY

Performs X-ray shoot operation of investment castings to support the X-ray Inspection operation for accept or reject as per specifications outlined in IMRS and processes parts per instructions on technique sheets in accordance with customer's processing procedures and acceptance criteria.

Schedule: 2nd shift Sunday – Thursday 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. | $2.00 differential pay

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Selects work to be X-ray processed per supervisor's instructions and processes parts as per technique instructions.
  • Checks to make sure previous paperwork has been completed and signed off and ensures that paperwork matches parts to be inspected.
  • Completes all required paperwork.
  • Move product to the next routed operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in life experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Level I is a plus working with film and digital X-ray techniques..

Aerospace industry experience is a plus.

NDT Experience in a Foundry is strongly preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS

Certified or qualified to be certified to NAS 410 Level I RT inspector.

Additional method certifications desired but not required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are defined by NAS 410 with near vision, and the ability to distinguish between colors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to non-toxic vapors or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.  Hearing protection is required.

Training Requirement:

  • New employees must be available to work any shift during a minimum six (6) week training period.
  • Training will be scheduled Monday through Friday and may occur on first, second, or third shift, depending on business needs.
  • After training is complete, employees will move to their regularly assigned shift.
