Neat Specialist (Transportation and Public Works)

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Six months of experience operating light equipment such as tractors, trucks or similar equipment to include experience performing general labor duties are required. Must possess a CDL/Class B. The NEAT Specialists will operate large vehicles and similar types of public works equipment.

Employees in this position are critical in order to maintain the safety of the motoring public and pedestrians. Neighborhood Enhancement Action Team (NEAT) crew is composed of 2 NEAT Specialist positions. NEAT crews performs proactive maintenance within Miami-Dade County roadways and public rights-of-way to resolve safety and infrastructure issues such as performing  repair of small potholes, removal of small piles of dumped waste, removal of debris from drain tops, clearing of vegetation blocking the view of traffic signs, erection of fallen traffic signs, litter collection (non-bulky items), etc.., and post storm roadway debris clearing activities.
