JOB DESCRIPTION


 We are looking for a responsible and courteous part-time Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) driver to join our team in San Jose, California. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety. 


DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:


  •  Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other non-emergency medical destinations
  • Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices as needed
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs and client records
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean and well-maintained
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies 

QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):


  • Licensed California Driver with good driving record.
  • At least 3 years driving experience with clean record.
  • Ability to operate all vehicles, has some mechanical ability and understand the maintenance program for vehicles.
  •  CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) 
  • One-year experience working with the frail or elderly population (Preferred).
  • Flexibility and creativity; gets along well with frail elderly people, and exercises mature judgment.
  • Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
  • Familiarity with traffic routes and driving regulations in San Jose.
  • English required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
