    Job Summary and Responsibilities

    As our Respiratory Therapist Flights - Neonate, you will perform specialized respiratory procedures under physician direction/clinical guidelines for Flight for Life NICU patients during transports and at the hospital base.

    Every day you will conduct patient assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, and revise therapy plans as needed. You will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective care delivery, utilizing your knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity.

    To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in neonatal respiratory care and flight transport, strong assessment and care planning skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for Flight for Life NICU patients.

    • Delivers respiratory care procedures to patients in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas according to departmental policies and procedures, Medical Direction, and Clinical Guidelines.
    • Performs therapeutic modalities including patient monitoring, medication delivery, ventilation management, expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
    • Assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care by providing airway maintenance and management, cardiac support, and other assistance as needed to expedite patient and physician needs.
    • Transports patients within the hospital or between facilities.
    • Develops care plan from thorough assessment via protocol criteria or directed physician order.
    • Documents all patient care activities including evaluations, progress notes, and detailed treatment records per standards of practice, legal requirements, and regulatory/thirdparty payer requirements.

    We are offering up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements

    Job Requirements

    Required

    • Respiratory Therapy Program (e.g. CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)

    • High School Diploma/ G.E.D.

    • Three (3) years of respiratory therapy experience including Level III/IV NICU

    • Current credential of CRT or RRT by N.B.R.C.

    • Must have current state Respiratory Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment

    • Certified Neonatal and Pediatric Transport (CNPT) upon hire or within two (2) years

    • Current valid Driver's License and ability to pass the annual review of driving record for safe vehicle operations

    • Must maintain current on all certifications required by Commission for Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems

    • Knowledge of and experience in medical/trauma terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions

    • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance

    Preferred

    • Associate's Degree

    • Critical Care air and ground transport experience

    • Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR)
