Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neonatal Nurse Practitioner you will join a dynamic Women's Health Division to cover multiple campuses in Omaha, Nebraska. This opportunity is suited for a provider who is excited to provide comprehensive care to high risk infants and their family members. Experience is preferred, but not required.

Everyday as our Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting and conducts medical histories, performs complete physical examinations, initiate appropriate lab, radiology tests and other special tests required for evaluation. Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed. May prescribe and monitor medications. Participates in medical team rounds and collaborates with physicians, nursing and other medical personnel. Educates patient families and answers questions regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards. Refers patients to specialists as appropriate. Our Advanced Practice Providers are a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary care team with advanced communication skills.

To be successful in this role a NNP will demonstrate exceptional clinical acumen and compassion, providing expert care to vulnerable infants and their families. Their ability to excel as a team player, seamlessly collaborating with physicians, nurses, and families will further enhance their effectiveness and contribute significantly to positive patient experiences.

  • Full Time (.9 FTE)
  • Shifts are 12 and 24 hours
  • Level II & III Neonatal Intensive Care Units
  • Experienced and Collegial Group of Neonatologists, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Support Staff
  • Its anticipated that your first year of practice will be on campus of Creighton University Bergan Mercy Medical Center (level III NICU). Once fully oriented, you may also provide care at CHI Lakeside Hospital (level III NICU) and CHI Immanuel Hospital (level II NICU)

We are offering an hourly salary that includes shift differentials and quality bonuses, a starting bonus, and relocation assistance for new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.


Job Requirements

Required

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from accredited program
  • Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required
  • Active or Eligible to obtain an unrestricted licence in Nebraska
  • BLS, PALS and NRP
  • Commitment to providing high quality, compassionate care
