Performs hemodynamic procedures, including arterial cannulation.
Participates in continuous learning and professional development to maintain and enhance skills.
Performs respiratory therapies, recommending the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and multidisciplinary team consultations to determine therapy efficacy and make appropriate recommendations and changes.
Conducts airway maintenance, including but not limited to: manual resuscitators, suctioning, extubating, tracheostomy tube insertion, trach tube changes, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, endotracheal intubation, and procedural respiratory support.
Achieves optimal respiratory support by administering oxygen, Heliox, Nitric Oxide, and Nitrogen; administer medications to the respiratory system; facilitate lung expansion and bronchial hygiene; and provide non-invasive, invasive, and advanced modes of mechanical ventilation.
Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators, including conventional and advanced modes of ventilation per policy and procedure, and monitors therapies.
Manages transitional care and home ventilators.
Provides support to the respiratory care team, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards.
Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies.
Accurately documents and charges for procedures to meet quality standards set by the department and hospital.
Performs ABG Puncture, analysis, and arterial cannulation. Performs CBG puncture and analysis.
Conducts Co-oximetry analysis. Utilizes Transcutaneous CO2 monitoring. Responds immediately to Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR according to American Heart Association guidelines.
