Neonatologist Physician - MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center

 

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, located in Baltimore, Maryland, and part of MedStar Health, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Neonatologist to serve our 23-bed, private-room Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the normal newborn nursery. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to practice in a high-performing NICU while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care within one of the region's leading integrated healthcare systems.

 

Physicians participate in a flexible schedule that includes clinical service, weekends, holidays, and home call. Dedicated administrative time is available for quality improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and educational activities, including teaching residents, physician assistant students, and neonatal nurse practitioner students. 

 

Qualifications:

• MD Licensure
• Initial board certification in Pediatrics
• Successful completion of a Perinatal/Neonatal Medicine Fellowship Program
• Board certification or eligibility in Perinatal/Neonatal Medicine
• BLS and NRP certification

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is a 23-bed, private-room level III NICU that admits ~280 newborns annually. Our program consistently achieves neonatal outcomes that rank within the top quartile of participating Vermont Oxford Network centers nationwide, reflecting our commitment to exceptional clinical quality and evidence-based care. 

 

Since 2007, MedStar Franklin Square has partnered with the March of Dimes to support Maryland's only fully staffed NICU Family Support Program, providing comprehensive education, advocacy, and emotional support for families throughout their neonatal journey.
