Locum - Physician - Neonatology Long Beach, CA
Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Locum Physician specializing in Neonatology, providing critical care in a Level IV neonatal intensive care environment. This opportunity offers a meaningful chance to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable patients while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. The role encompasses in-house shift coverage on weekdays, nights, weekends, and 24-hour shifts, tailored to meet the urgent needs of our neonatal unit.
Required Skills:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid and unrestricted medical license in California
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Proven clinical expertise in neonatology, including managing critically ill infants
  • Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Previous experience in a Level IV NICU setting
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Experience with hand-held ventilators and advanced neonatal interventions
  • Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Minimum of 3 years of neonatal intensive care experience
  • Prior locum or hospital-based clinical experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
  • Availability for various shifts including days, nights, weekends, and 24-hour coverage
  • Compliance with all healthcare licensing, certification, and credentialing requirements
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support hospital staffing demands
  • No travel restrictions; travel and licensure reimbursements available as applicable
