We are seeking Nepali Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Nepali is a critical language for immigration and asylum cases, requiring interpreters with cultural understanding and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Nepali English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
Interpret accurately, neutrally, and confidentially in legal and immigration contexts.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance and interpreter ethics standards.
Handle scheduled assignments as well as urgent/surge interpretation requests.
Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Nepali and English.
2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, or government preferred).
Familiarity with interpreter ethics and confidentiality requirements.
Excellent telephone communication and cultural competency skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
