Job Description

Our organization currently has an opening for a Board Certified Nephrologist. The practice encompasses a full range of nephrology services, including office consultations, multiple dialysis clinics (including home hemodialysis), and comprehensive inpatient and ICU renal care at a single tertiary academic hospital, which also offers teaching opportunities for residents, students, and fellows. There is a chance to engage in both outpatient and inpatient transplant services for those trained in transplant fellowship. The practice also operates a community outpatient vascular access center, staffed by two interventional nephrologists and two full-time access surgeons.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in team-based hospital coverage (18 physicians/5 APPs) with a weekend rotation of approximately 1:5.
• Hold credentialing and medical directorships at 15 different dialysis facilities.
• Provide call coverage approximately 1:12 nights.
• Collaborate with three transplant-certified nephrologists integrated with a leading Northeast transplant center.
• Manage a profitable Vascular Access Center that has been operational for over 18 years.
• Engage in clinical research opportunities through our organization and the hospital system.
• Participate in resident teaching opportunities.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain licensure in Connecticut prior to commencing practice.
• Board Certification and a DEA license are mandatory.
