Role Description
\n
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Electrical Testing Technician to join our Field Services team. This position is responsible for performing electrical testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low, medium, and high-voltage power distribution equipment in accordance with industry standards, including InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in industrial, commercial, and utility environments.

Key Responsibilities that you will be trained to perform:
\n
- \n
- Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on:
- \n
- Switchgear (low and medium voltage)
- \n
- Circuit breakers (air, vacuum, SF6)
- \n
- Protective relays
- \n
- Transformers (dry-type and liquid-filled)
- \n
- Motor control centers (MCCs)
- \n
- Cables and bus systems
- \n
- Conduct testing in accordance with NETA ATS and NETA MTS standards
- \n
- Perform insulation resistance, power factor, Doble, TTR, primary and secondary injection, and functional testing
- \n
- Assist in protective relay testing and calibration
- \n
- Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and recommend corrective actions
- \n
- Interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- \n
- Generate detailed, accurate field service reports
- \n
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- \n
- Maintain testing equipment and calibration records
- \n
- Provide mentorship to Level 1 technicians as needed
- \n

Required Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Experience working in industrial environments or working with tools and machines
- \n
- Strong technical aptitude
- \n
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
- \n
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in industrial environments
- \n
\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
- \n
- Current NETA/NICET Certification
- \n
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical testing and power systems field service
- \n
- Working knowledge of: Relay test sets, Doble test equipment, Megger insulation testers, High-potential (Hi-Pot) test equipment
- \n
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- \n
- Experience with digital protective relays (SEL, GE, ABB, etc.)
- \n
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- \n
- NFPA 70E training
- \n
