DPP is seeking a Network Administrator for an opportunity to support enterprise network and identity services in an NOC in Cayce, SC.  
 
Work location: Onsite in Cayce, SC; some travel to Field Offices around the state
Duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension
Terms: W2 contract
 
Position description:
  • The Network Administrator, under the general guidance of the assigned Network Operations Center Manager, will coordinate daily/weekly assignments for the deployment, operational support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of the agency’s critical enterprise architecture.
  • The Network Administrator will work with Network, Security, and other IT professional groups and non-IT staff to assist with problem resolution, mitigation of issues, and to provide technical solutions.
  • The Network Administrator will ensure assignments are completed accurately and on-time, and regularly provide progress, tasks, and deliverables status updates to the assigned project manager. 
Basic qualifications:
  • Ability to perform on-site physical network work, including lifting 40 lbs. of equipment several times a day and working on ladders
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel statewide to remote sites with a state OR Personal Vehicle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non technical staff
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills 
Responsibilities:
  • Support enterprise network and identity initiatives including SD-WAN deployment, PKI lifecycle management, and secure authentication services
  • Monitor, identify, and remediate issues with Agency enterprise network and identity services
  • Support network connectivity and authentication services on Windows-based systems
  • Support connectivity and secure access on mobile devices (i.e., Apple devices)
  • Manage the network and identity infrastructure lifecycle at all stages
  • Create and maintain network documentation (e.g., diagrams, coverage, and design documentation)
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, and support of SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication solutions
  • Perform enterprise network deployments, installations, and upgrades
  • Perform firmware/software/security/feature upgrades across network and identity platforms
  • Monitor Agency trouble ticket system and complete assigned network, authentication, and connectivity tickets
  • Will serve as the Agency’s primary support resource for network and access-related (authentication) technical issues, troubleshooting and resolving most common/routine problems
  • Assists Agency staff/contractors in resolving network, authentication, and connectivity-related problems
  • Coordinate and assist with testing and validation of network and identity solutions
  • Adhere to state and Agency security and IT policies and standards
  • Work closely with key stakeholder groups, including Network, Security, and Server Hosting to ensure the appropriate level of engagement and focus is maintained
  • Assists various IT groups with other tasks as assigned such as with system/network installations and upgrades (i.e. racking equipment)
  • Create, maintain, and review/improve upon network and identity documentation
  • Ability to plan, organize, review, and implement associated project milestones to completion
  • Provides updates to Project Team
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned 
Required skills:
  • 3+ years of experience with Enterprise Network Infrastructure and LAN Administration
  • 3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting switches and wireless access points
  • 3+ years of experience with SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication services
  • 3+ years of experience with troubleshooting network connectivity on Windows and mobile devices
  • 3+ years of experience with creating, reading, and maintaining network documentation and diagrams 
Preferred skills:
  • Any current/previously held network or related certification by an industry leader such as CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft. (Please indicate whether certificate is active or inactive on resume)
  • Cisco Network Academy or similar bootcamp/training
Required education:
  • Associates Degree in a relevant field of work
  • OR high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
