Job Title: Network Administrator
Job Location: Lawrenceville, NJ/ Onsite (some off work hours may be required occasionally for urgent updates or installs, offsetting workhours and OT both option available in such case)
Project Duration: 3 months with possible extension/
 
Note: Network Admin with 4 to 6 years experience needed.
Job Summary:
May need to work off-hours occasionally for emergencies or installs. Offsetting & overtime available.
Duties:
As a Network Administrator, you will assemble and perform advanced, custom configuration of network components (i.E., routers, switches, etc.) as well as maintain services (i.E., connectivity and access). You will be responsible for performing troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex problems. This involves independently implementing solutions that have limited system-wide impact. Day to Day Responsibilities: Maintaining network resources, including configuration of network switches, server hardware, PBX/VoIP systems, operating systems, applications and services in a wired and wireless environment. Maintaining and improving network operations and provide support to network users. Configuring and maintaining network components (e.G., routers, switches, etc.) and services (i.E., connectivity and access). Performing custom configuration for complex network devices such as firewalls and VPN concentrators. Reconfiguring network equipment as necessary to handle environmental changes.
 
Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Maintaining network resources, including configuration of network switches, access points, and related hardware in a wired and wireless environment;
• Maintaining and improving network operations and provide support to network users;
• Configuring and maintaining network components (e.G., routers, switches, etc.) and services (i.E., connectivity and access);
• Performing custom configuration for complex network devices such as firewalls and VPN concentrators;
• Reconfiguring network equipment as necessary to handle environmental changes;
• Performing network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex network problems with minor supervision, implementing solutions that have limited system-wide impact;
• Escalating issues with broader implications for entire network to CIO;
• Maintaining the wireless authentication tool(s) for the campus and serve as the primary point of contact for campus community support;
• Utilizing monitoring tools to capture and analyze traffic, maintaining uptime, and addressing outages;
• Creating and maintaining documentation and diagrams as needed when assets are added or removed;
• Providing technical support to the helpdesk team;
• Installing and testing necessary software and hardware in accordance with standards based settings and Client Change Management processes;
• Providing support and access to network replacement vendor

 
Skills:

• Experience & strong knowledge of configuring & troubleshooting Cisco IOS networking devices. Experience & working knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory Doman Services & Server roles such as DNS & DHCP. Experience with network administration skills including security, back-up, recovery & capacity planning. Broad-based, in-depth knowledge & h&s-on experience implementing network switches & routers. Practical experience with Cisco phone systems & VOIP system administration Excellent time-management, planning & interpersonal skills.
• Experience & strong knowledge of configuring & troubleshooting Cisco IOS switching, Fortigate Firewalls with collapsed core design, and related networking devices
• Demonstrated experience with an Aruba ClearPass environment with Aruba wireless controllers.
• Microsoft Active Directory Doman Services & Server roles such as DNS & DHCP.
• Experience with network administration skills including security, back-up, recovery & capacity planning.
• Broad-based, in-depth knowledge & hands-on experience implementing network switches & routers.
• Excellent time-management, planning & interpersonal skills.
• Effectively manage scope & customer expectations on individual assignments.
• Superior verbal & written skills, encompassing complete understanding on the English language with exceptional communication skills.
• Willingness to work as a contributing member of the team including other systems personnel, the operations staff & the account administrators.
• Available
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form & deal with several abstract & concrete variables.
• Familiarity with network monitoring systems such as SolarWinds.

Cisco IOS (CCNA) certification & appropriate professional certifications preferred.
 
Education:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a technical school, Bachelor’s degree preferred Higher Education background and knowledge with 3-5 years of related experience and/or training;OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a technical school, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Higher Education professional background and knowledge
• 4-7 years of related experience and/or training;OR equivalent combination of education and experience
