Position OverviewOur client is seeking contract network support professionals to supplement a lean and transitioning infrastructure team following several recent departures and retirements. This team is currently operating with only two Network Technicians and one Security Administrator and is in urgent need of additional support.Resource Needs2-3 contractors, including: 2 entry-to-mid-level network technicians and 1 senior -level engineer with strong Cisco expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot network connectivity issues (e.g., cabling, patching, hardware faults).Diagnose and resolve physical layer issues (e.g., improper cable termination, need for rewiring).Install and configure network switches.Assist with UPS and infrastructure-related hardware.Support ticket queues with hands-on network troubleshooting.Patch panels, rack/stack equipment, and perform general network support tasks.Assist with wireless access point configuration and controller management.Work within VLAN environments and support network segmentation efforts.Technical EnvironmentCisco-heavy environment ("Cisco shop") including: Routing & Switching (BGP and other protocols), Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), Cisco firewalls and security solutions.Wireless infrastructure (AP configuration and controller assignments).SolarWinds (currently being rebuilt following a cyber incident).Candidate ProfileEntry-Level Candidates (2 roles)Must have hands-on experience with Cisco networking (not entry-level internships or classroom-only knowledge).Comfortable with basic routing/switching concepts.Able to independently support physical network tasks (patching, switch setup, troubleshooting).~1+ year of relevant experience preferred.Not expected to perform advanced configurations (e.g., firewall programming), but should be able to navigate and assist within Cisco environments.Senior-Level Candidate (1 role)Strong Cisco background with hands-on configuration experience.Deep understanding of routing, switching, and wireless networking.Ability to work more independently and support higher-level troubleshooting.Potential for limited remote flexibility (approx. 1 day/week).Work EnvironmentPrimarily onsite role.Entry-level candidates expected to be onsite regularly.Senior-level role may have limited remote flexibility.Duration & OpportunityContract duration: 6+ months.Strong potential for full-time conversion for high performers.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Jackson, MS.Pay and BenefitsPay range: $28.00 - $40.00/hr.Medical, dental & vision.Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital.401(k) Retirement Plan – pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available.Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents).Short and long-term disability.Health Spending Account (HSA).Transportation benefits.Employee Assistance Program.Time Off/Leave (PTO, vacation or sick leave).The company is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applications without regard to race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information or any characteristic protected by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
