Jr. network Administrator
Location:
On-Site Washington DC 20515
Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background check.
Must be able to reliably commute to the customer site on Capitol Hill in DC

Our client is looking for Network Administrators to work this shift:
2pm-10:30pm shift Sunday - Thursday

Temporary: this is a 2-4 month assignment (could potentially go longer if a position opens up)



Job Summary
The Network Administrator Operation Technician role is essential to maintaining the telecommunications network infrastructure of the House of Representatives. This position is designed for individuals with strong technical skills, capable of diagnosing and resolving network issues, performing first-level diagnostics, and providing on-site installation and repair services. These roles involve shift work to ensure 24/7 network support, making it a critical part of the team that ensures continuous, reliable network performance.
You will be assisting with network operational support, including problem management and diagnostics, as well as on-site installation and repair of network components. The individual(s) will also use a variety of software and hardware tools to monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and resolve problems affecting network operations. The role requires flexibility with shift hours to provide 24/7 support, including responding to trouble calls and supporting the infrastructure during office moves.

Requirements and Experience:

U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.
" Degree/certification in telecommunications, IT, or related field preferred.
" 2+ years of experience in network operations, troubleshooting, or telecommunications support .
" Proficiency in using network monitoring tools and diagnosing network issues.
" Experience with onsite network installation, repair, and maintenance.
" Ability to analyze and resolve network performance issues .
" Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate network diagrams and records.
" Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
" Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, with shift flexibility .
" Must be able to work out of the assigned office on a routine basis, telework

Responsibilities:

Assisting with monitoring and operational support of the House Data, WiFi and telecommunications network infrastructure.
" Providing network problem management and coordination as the "problem coordinator, " which includes logging/tracking issues, performing first-level diagnostics, on-site support, problem escalation, and ensuring timely problem closure.
" Offering on-site diagnostic support for all House networks, using software and hardware tools to diagnose problems affecting network performance.
" Adhering to operational procedures and practices.
" Providing 24/7, on-site support for trouble calls and Emergency Communications Center (ECC) duties.
" Performing other official duties as assigned
