Description
JCDS seeks a Network Administrator with 7+ years' experience designing, installing, and maintaining digital communication networks within a federal organization.
Responsibilities
The role supports the professional services which takes client project opportunities from vision/concept all the way through implementation. Projects are focused on Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, and Cloud technologies as well as software and services. This position will be responsible for identifying and implementing management, security and best practice improvements across client environments in on-prem datacenter, office locations and Cloud ( Microsoft Azure and AWS) as well as hands on work on firewall/switching/router/load balancer, and virtualization technologies.
Requirement & Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as the position is customer facing in nature. The candidate will be part of the operations team focusing on modernization of the LAN at 5 major customer sites and supporting other spoke sites. 
  • Knowledge of routing protocols including EIGRP, BGP and static routing. 
  • Experience with WAN technologies including MPLS, Point to point ,Metro Ethernet and SD-WAN 
  • Familiarity with Cisco switching platforms including Cisco 3850,4500,6880 and Nexus 5000 and 7000 series. 
  • Working knowledge of fiber optics and testing methodologies such as OTDR, OSA etc. 
  • Knowledge of protocols including HSRP, GSLB, VRRP, NAT, IPSEC ,ARP, 802.1x and GRE. 
  • Extensive knowledge of switching technologies (802.1Q, STP, RSTP, PVST+ etc). 
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP and other basic protocols .
  • Knowledge of DNS, FTP, SNMP, Netflow. 
  • Experience supporting Cisco and Meraki based secure enterprise wireless networks and understanding of wireless standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
  • Experience supporting IP-based voice and video systems, including QoS on both LAN and WAN infrastructure 
  • Experience with Cisco Prime infrastructure and Cisco ISE. 
  • Familiarity with Websense, NetBrain, InfoBlox, Solarwind, Atlas, NetFlow, ArgoSec, Riverbed, Steeel head, Splunk/ArcSight, AWS or other 
  • Writing scripts to automate manual tasks and to streamline operational tasks. 
  • Experience in Implementing and Supporting applications load balancing using F5. 
  • Experience with VPN technologies including Cisco AnyConnect and zScaler ZPA. 
  • Ability to generate and interpret packet traces via Sniffer, Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, and/or ping to diagnose and troubleshoot. 
  • Ability to support for LAN & WAN on 24 x 7 basis via on call availability. 
  • Knowledge of IPv6, IPV4, subnetting. 
  • Knowledge of firewall technologies and concepts and the ability to understand policy sets and request firewall changes from security team.
  • User level working knowledge of Windows, Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux or CentOS Linux and ability to troubleshoot user connectivity issues related to wired, wireless and VPN networks. 
  • Experience with Network/ system monitoring platforms including Solarwinds , Nagios , etc. 
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management 
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems 
  • Developing digital communication networks on premises and connections to cloud presence
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud services. 
  • Experience with Jira , Confluence and ServiceNow. 
  • Familiarity with Agile Framework. 
Education & Experience
  • Microsoft Azure/ AWS certifications.
  • Cisco Certifications CCNA required.
  • Bachelors of Science, Computer Science or related college degree.
  • 7 years' minimum experience 
Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance. U.S. Citizen.

Compensation: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
