Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with cloud-based network solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)Project Overview IT Network Services team has several Digitization projects and work efforts in 2026 including, but not limited to: Digital Worker Connect (DW Connect) Communications Back Bone Project Core IT infrastructure LEM Client Cloud migration activities Upgrade Operations Turrets & Call manager Conducting technology reviews of wireless systems Reviewing and analyzing wireless survey results Consulting and coordinating with site resources for optimal WAP (Wireless Access Point) placement Planning and executing deployment activities Building and deploying new WAPs and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) Researching and evaluating Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)Job Functions & Responsibilities Installation: Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems. Install or repair network cables, including fiber optic cables. Install network software, including security or firewall software. Install and configure wireless networking equipment. Problem Resolution: Work with vendors to diagnose and resolve network problems. Operate and configure protocol analyzers to diagnose issues, analyze captured data using network protocols, and use network monitoring software to detect conditions requiring corrective action or performance tuning. Collaboration: Assist with the integration, maintenance, and problem resolution of network services and wiring infrastructures by working with other networking and telecommunications staff, user support entities, vendors, and end-users, including NYPA contractors and guests. Record Keeping: Ensure accurate records are kept of network components, maintenance activities, network connections, accounts, and inventory. Programming: Program network applications as needed, such as web, network monitoring, bandwidth utilization, general data collection, reporting, and automated response to abnormal or undesirable network conditions.
