Job Overview: 
This position will act as a primary technical principal and is responsible for delivery of network solutions at an enterprise level. Expertise with network infrastructure technologies such as LAN, WAN,Wireless, Security, VoIP, Video and Data Center. Ideal candidates will have Data Center experience.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Network Security

• Expert-level knowledge of Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, Cloudflare, Prisma Cloud, and Cisco ASA.
• Advanced experience configuring and managing Forcepoint security solutions.
• Working knowledge of Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, including:
  • Access Control Lists (ACLs)
  • Stateful Firewalls
  • VPN Technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN, Tunneling)
  • Secure Network Architecture

Load Balancing & Application Delivery

• Expert-level experience with:
  • F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
  • F5 BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
  • F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  • AWS Elastic Load Balancer (ELB)

Cloud Technologies

• Expert knowledge of AWS networking and infrastructure services, including:
  • EC2
  • ELB
  • RDS
  • S3
  • Route 53
  • VPC
  • CloudFormation
  • Systems Manager (SSM)
  • Transit Gateway

Network Infrastructure

• Advanced understanding of OSI Layer 2 technologies, including:
  • Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
  • ARP
  • QoS
  • VLANs
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSI Layer 3 networking concepts, including:
  • Routing
  • Broadcast
  • Multicast
  • Anycast
• Advanced experience with routing protocols:
  • BGP
  • OSPF

• Strong expertise in:
  • MPLS Networks
  • Internet Multi-homing
  • Nexus 9K

Cisco Networking

• Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking platforms, including:

  • Cisco Routers and Enterprise Switching Infrastructure

Automation & Scripting

• Advanced experience with network automation.

  • Perl
  • UNIX Shell Scripting

Network Monitoring & Administration

• Experience with enterprise monitoring and administration tools, including:
  • RANCID
  • OpenNMS
  • Nagios
  • OpManager
  • Wireshark
  • Nmap
  • Nessus
  • NetFlow
  • sFlow

Data Center & Enterprise Networking

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale:
  • Data Centers
  • Colocation Environments
  • Public & Private Cloud Infrastructure
  • Enterprise Office Networks

Additional Technical Experience

• Working knowledge of:
  • Wireless Network Deployment & Administration
  • Microsoft Teams PBX (Network Side)
  • SIP Trunking

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Engineering
  • Or a related technical discipline

OR

• Equivalent enterprise-level networking and infrastructure experience in lieu of a formal degree.

Required Certifications

Mandatory

• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Preferred

• CCIE Routing & Switching
• CCIE Data Center
• Additional AWS Professional or Specialty Certifications

Must-Have Skills

• Advanced hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 LTM, F5 GTM, and F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF).
• Advanced hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Extensive experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Deep expertise in Forcepoint administration, configuration, and management.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification (Mandatory).
• CCNP Certification (Mandatory).

Note:
Prefers someone local to the Bay Area.
Travel will be as needed, depending on projects and/or issues at site.
