Network & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Network & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to join our Infrastructure team within a regulated healthcare environment. This role is designed to complement an established infrastructure team and expand the organization's capabilities in hybrid cloud environments. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with existing team members to support and enhance on-premises network and infrastructure systems while developing and maturing the organization's AWS cloud platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on networking and hybrid connectivity. The position will work in partnership with internal infrastructure staff and external consultants to design, implement, and operate AWS-based and hybrid solutions supporting clinical and business applications.

The role will also help distribute operational responsibilities across the team to reduce single points of failure and improve overall system resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with infrastructure team members to support and maintain enterprise on-premises wired and wireless networks
• Participate in wireless design and optimization including RF tuning and site surveys
• Support Fortinet platforms (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
• Support and troubleshoot SSL and IPSec VPN connectivity and site-to-site integrations
• Assist with routing protocols including BGP and OSPF
• Support hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS (VPN and Direct Connect)
• Assist in distributing operational ownership to reduce single points of failure
• Support day-to-day network operations including firewall changes, VPN configuration, and troubleshooting
• Serve as a key contributor and emerging technical lead for AWS networking and infrastructure
• Support AWS services including VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, and gateways
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to align infrastructure with application and CI/CD requirements
• Monitor performance and availability across on-prem and cloud environments
• Maintain accurate documentation including diagrams, configurations, and change records
• Ensure all work aligns with HIPAA and security compliance requirements

On-Call & Operational Support:  Participate in an on-call rotation with other infrastructure team members to support after-hours incidents impacting critical systems.

Required Qualifications:

• 5–8 years of experience in network administration or infrastructure operations
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking (routing, switching, VPNs)
• Experience supporting Fortinet networking and security platforms
• Experience with SSL/IPSec VPN technologies
• Working knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
• Hands-on or intermediate experience with AWS networking and infrastructure
• Experience supporting hybrid on-premises and AWS environments
• Strong understanding of network security in regulated environments
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with DevOps or application teams on cloud infrastructure
• Scripting experience (PowerShell or Python)
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Microsoft 365 or Azure experience
• Healthcare IT experience
