Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our IT department in the role of Network Engineer. This position is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week). The schedule is 1st shift Monday-Friday, but flexible to accommodate updates on off hours. This position will share on call responsibilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing operation of the organization's network infrastructure across on-premises, data center, and cloud-connected environments. The Network Administrator/Engineer ensures high availability, performance, and security of network systems supporting clinical, business, and operational functions.

This position plays a key role in modernizing network services, including SD-WAN adoption, network segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and automation. The role partners with IT leadership and systems teams to align network strategy with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco platforms is required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on network administration/engineering experience (healthcare or enterprise preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco enterprise networking platforms required

Technical Skills 

  • Cisco routing & switching: Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR series
  • Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela / Catalyst SD-WAN) and traditional WAN technologies
  • Cisco security platforms: Firepower/FTD, ASA, ISE, Umbrella, Secure Firewall
  • Cisco wireless: Catalyst Center, Meraki, WLC-based deployments
  • Network protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP/RSTP, HSRP/VRRP, 802.1Q, QoS
  • VPN technologies: AnyConnect, IPsec IKEv2, DMVPN
  • Network monitoring and management tools (DNA Center, ThousandEyes, SolarWinds, or equivalent)
  • Scripting and automation: Python, Ansible, or Cisco automation tooling
  • IPAM and DNS/DHCP management

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security preferred
  • Cisco CCIE highly preferred
  • Cisco Certified DevNet Associate or Professional preferred
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+
  • CISSP or equivalent security certification (optional but valuable)

    FTE: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
