Firewall Cleanup Specialist (FireMon Focus)Documentation and ReportingMaintain detailed documentation of firewall rules, changes, and justifications for access, and generate reports for compliance and audit purposes. Change ManagementCollaborate with network and security teams to implement firewall changes, ensuring proper testing and validation before deployment. TroubleshootingInvestigate and resolve firewall-related issues, working with other teams to ensure network stability and security. Zero Trust AlignmentAdapt existing rules to align with Zero Trust principles, reducing complexity and risk. Vendor ManagementWork with FireMon to ensure optimal use of the platform and stay updated on new features. Skills and QualificationsFirewall ExpertiseStrong understanding of firewall technologies, architectures, and best practices, with experience in at least one major firewall vendor (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet). FireMon ProficiencyProven experience in using FireMon for firewall management, policy analysis, and change management. Security KnowledgeSolid understanding of network security principles, including access control, encryption, and threat detection. Troubleshooting SkillsAbility to analyze complex network issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Communication SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with various teams and document firewall changes. Problem-SolvingAbility to analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and implement them effectively. Firewall Policy AnalysisAnalyze firewall policies using FireMon to identify redundant, shadowed, or unused rules. Rule OptimizationConsolidate overlapping rules, identify and remove excessive allowlist entries, and optimize rules for better performance.
