Join a growing Managed Services team where you''ll play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing client network environments. As a Network Engineer II, you will serve as a frontline technical resource, troubleshooting network issues, implementing network changes, monitoring performance, and ensuring the overall health and security of client infrastructure. This role is ideal for a skilled networking professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
Salary range: $80,000-$110,000. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. There is also a bonus component and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional client service and build trusted client relationships.
Troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.
Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues before they become critical.
Respond to monitoring alerts and service tickets in a timely manner.
Analyze, benchmark, and recommend improvements to network infrastructure and performance.
Support and maintain Cisco and Meraki network environments.
Create and maintain basic to moderately complex systems for internal and external clients.
Assist in technical network design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Perform initial testing of network changes to ensure a stable production environment.
Collaborate with project teams on scope development and project estimates.
Work with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues and manage warranties.
Maintain detailed documentation of support activities, communications, and configurations.
Assist with network capacity planning and future growth initiatives.
Ensure network configurations adhere to security standards and policies.
Maintain current technical knowledge and pursue ongoing certifications.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Travel occasionally to client sites as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience supporting Cisco network environments.
Experience deploying and supporting Cisco and Meraki equipment.
CCNA and/or CCNP certification.
Strong understanding of:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting
Network topologies and networking components
Routers, switches, VPN concentrators, and firewalls
LAN/WAN administration and infrastructure support
Network security architectures and protocols
VPNs, IDS/IPS solutions, and firewall management
Experience with network monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor and N-able.
Proficiency with Python and/or PowerShell for network automation and administration.
Experience troubleshooting basic cabling issues.
Experience working within ticketing systems (ConnectWise preferred).
Preferred
CMNA certification.
Experience with infrastructure design, build, and modification activities.
Business application management experience.
