Network Infrastructure Engineer

Provides support for all network infrastructure within the HKS environment and produces and maintains technical documentation of the overall network ecosystem. Possess and applies broad knowledge of advanced networking and system maintenance activities tocomplete assignments with integrity, creativity and strong analytical skills in collaboration with the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Engineers, implements, and provides support for advanced network configurations
  • Proposes, designs, and deploys on-premises and cloud solutions based on business requirements
  • Provides strategic guidance for network roadmap
  • Proactively identifies and remediates found issues
  • Collaborates and may be responsible for delivering a project on defined budget and timeline requirements
  • Manages and applies firmware and other software patches to networking systems
  • Ensures reliable backup and recovery from circuit and hardware failures
  • Participates in the execution of disaster recovery plan and testing
  • Leads root cause analysis investigations, and develops comprehensive RCA reports
  • Recommends and implements improvements to RCA processes and procedures
  • Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of network documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Ensures documentation is aligned with industry best practices, organizational needs, and provides guidance and training to other team members on infrastructure documentation standards
  • Leads the creation of executive-level infrastructure reports, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of infrastructure dashboards and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures that infrastructure reporting is accurate, timely, and relevant to the needs of the audience
  • Provides expert guidance and advice to other IT teams on network architecture, design, and implementation
  • Provides after-hours support upon request by management on an as-needed basis
  • Performs other duties assigned by leadership
  • Continuously learn and develop skills and knowledge and embraces a culture of continuous service improvement and service excellence
  • Stays current on industry trends
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically, with 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN architecture
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus, MDS, and Meraki, HPE Silverpeak SDWAN, Palo Alto firewall and Prisma Cloud preferred
  • PCNSA, PCNSE, CCNA/CCNP highly preferred
  • Advanced competency with Azure cloud services and hybrid network environments
  • Advanced competency with complex inter-office networking and SDWAN
  • Experience in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong technical project leadership skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
  • Proven track record of unprompted consistent improvement
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality, accurate results
  • Ability to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
