Team Overview
The Network Services Backbone team is responsible for the delivery of highly available and high-performing campus and data center networks in support of Edward Jones clients, financial advisors, and home-office personnel. This includes operational and maintenance activities, as well as research design and implementation responsibilities.
What Youll Do
We are seeking a talented, experienced, and innovative engineer who can adapt and deliver results in this challenging and rapidly changing environment.
Here are a few of the Key Responsibilities:
• Working with BGP, TCPIP, MPLS, QoS, EPVN, VXLAN, Firewalls, and WAN technologies. • Providing support with Cloud IaaS with MS Azure. • Cloud automation, including experience with Python and Terraform. • Knowledge and experience in other areas of Digital Technology, security, computing, operating systems, application infrastructure, and development, etc. will help you adapt to the business acumen of the area. • Immersing yourself with Edward Jones digital transformation environment by following Agile and Scrum best practices. • Investigating complex network-related issues to resolution. • Analyzing requirements and developing and deploying technical solutions according to business objectives. • Analyzing requirements, determining feasibility, costs, benefits, etc., and subsequently developing and presenting a business case recommendation. • Aligning Digital Technology and Firm objectives and providing strategic direction and technical leadership. • Mentoring and building the technical skills of others and fostering a strong and collaborative team environment.
What Experience Youll Need
Bachelors degree preferred and/or related work experience. 10 years of experience working with enterprise network solutions, HW and SW, defined networks, routing, switching, firewall, application load balancing, wireless, DNS, monitoring, and packet analysis.
What Could Set You Apart
Experience with IaC preferred. Experience with Fortinet firewalls preferred.
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ, and St. Louis, MO, home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week, effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ, and St. Louis, MO, home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday. Current INTERNAL home-based associates, while this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
