Network Engineer

To perform technical system engineering, implementation, support, and maintenance for Operations Technology (OT) network infrastructure, ensuring that use of technology supports its current and future business practices. This role will work closely with multiple stakeholders within Client to ensure our networks are secure and compliant with our security policies and any applicable regulations. Candidate must be within 50-mile drive of San Francisco or Los Angles airport. Supplier must be able to sponsor candidate to receive airport badge. This is a hybrid position and will be a part of the Client Network Engineering team based out of SFO (San Francisco) or LAX (Los Angeles).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network segmentation solutions for our networks, ensuring that they are secure and compliant with our security policies and regulations
  • Designing and developing the enterprise network for both LAN and WAN
  • Maintaining and administering network and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations
  • Participate in project planning and implementation to ensure that our network segmentation solutions for vendor networks are integrated seamlessly into our network infrastructure
  • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made
  • Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems
  • Participate in strategy definition and execution for enterprise network segmentation to address high risk environments such as public facing applications
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight (8) years designing and engineering LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Comprehensive experience in network engineering utilizing Cisco, and HP/Aruba Networking Technologies
  • Extensive experience and very good understanding of Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM), wired/wireless NAC, 802.1x, TACACS+, RADIUS, & ACLs
  • Hands on experience with Wireshark and packet capture analysis
  • Switching - VLANs, spanning-tree, LACP/PACP, MC-LAG
  • Routing - Multicast, OSPF, BGP, static
  • Experience in TCP/IP stack, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and virtualization technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Catalyst (45XX,65XX and 9XXX series) & Aruba CX network switching solutions
  • Firewall experience with firewalls such as Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG, Palo Alto etc.
  • Familiarity with Riverbed optimization
  • Experience with Cisco/Viptela SDWAN
  • Strong programming and automation platform proficiency: Python, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional (ACCP) or Associate (ACCA) certified
  • Ability to work as a team or on their own depending on the engagement and ability to keep yourself on task
  • Ability to travel as needed
