Description:

Title: Network Engineer

Type: Contract - 12+ Months

Location: Las Vegas - Hybrid


This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure and related systems. The position requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex network environments and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure and application components.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPN concentrators, and security appliances to ensure secure access to business-critical applications.
  • Lead and manage assigned projects and program components in alignment with defined objectives and timelines.
  • Design and document new network solutions, including flow diagrams, technical documentation, and change management materials.
  • Develop, maintain, and update network diagrams and related technical documentation.
  • Serve as a technical expert for network administrators and IT staff, providing guidance and escalation support.
  • Design, configure, and manage complex switching and routing environments supporting secure and open access, including voice and video services.
  • Contribute to the design of data services that support software development and business strategy initiatives.
  • Assist in designing multi-server environments, including IP addressing schemes, DNS, and link aggregation (e.g., EtherChannel).
  • Install, configure, and maintain client and server network software; perform system upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
  • Support multi-site network operations across private and public infrastructure environments.
  • Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams, administrators, and external vendors.
  • Oversee network-related systems administration to ensure reliable and secure system availability for authorized users.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP are preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience designing, supporting, and delivering network and systems architecture in multi-platform environments.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a security operations capacity.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems and make sound decisions based on in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs.
  • Experience with technical documentation, including standard engineering practices and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of dependencies across applications, networks, systems, and security policies.
