As a Network Engineer, you will support the implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure under the guidance of more experienced engineers. You’ll assist with troubleshooting, configuration, and monitoring tasks while developing a strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
Your role will focus on hands-on learning, contributing to documentation, and participating in on-call rotations with senior oversight. Over time, you’ll build expertise in networking technologies, automation tools, and troubleshooting methodologies, setting the stage for growth into a more independent engineering role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing, designing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure under supervision.
- Support senior engineers in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Learn and provide basic recommendations for networking improvements.
- Assist in responding to emergent events under guidance.
- Act as the first point of contact for emergent network issues before escalation.
- Support delivery of critical projects by executing defined tasks.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to internal RFCs by reviewing and providing minor updates.
- Use existing automation tools and processes to monitor network health and respond to alerts.
- Participate in On-Call rotation with senior support.
Required Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and hands-on experience with routing and switching fundamentals (e.g., IP, BGP, OSPF, LACP, STP).
- Exposure to network security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with network utilities like ICMP, Syslog, and Wireshark.
- Basic understanding of wireless networking and remote access solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Exposure to Palo Alto, Aruba, Juniper, or Arista technologies.
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) for automation.
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Understanding of AWS networking concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
