SKILLS REQUIRED:
Primary (Must-Have):
• 12+ years of experience in network engineering within IT and OT (Operational Technology) environments
• Strong expertise in Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) and TACACS for network access control
• Advanced routing and switching utilizing Cisco Switches, Routers, and Firewalls
• Packet analysis and network troubleshooting proficiency using Wireshark
• Firewall management, security policy implementation, and VPN configuration
• Compliance experience with NERC CIP and/or TSA security frameworks
Secondary (Good to Have):
• Experience with AWS Networking and cloud-native connectivity
• Experience working with Energy Management Systems (EMS) infrastructure
• Network monitoring and traffic analysis using SolarWinds
• Familiarity with RSA two-factor authentication systems
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Senior Network Engineer with 12+ years of experience to join our team in Louisville, KY on a hybrid/onsite basis. This critical role is responsible for designing, implementing, and securing complex IT and OT networks, including critical Energy Management Systems (EMS). The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and security compliance (NERC CIP/TSA), ensuring maximum network performance, reliability, and robust access control across the enterprise.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance IT and OT related networks, including end-to-end LAN/WAN infrastructure and EMS network equipment.
• Manage authentication, access controls, and network security by configuring and supporting Cisco ISE, TACACS, and RSA two-factor authentication systems.
• Develop, optimize, and proactively review firewall rules and network security policies to maintain strict compliance with NERC CIP and TSA standards.
• Monitor network traffic and performance using SolarWinds, utilizing Wireshark for advanced packet analysis and complex troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for seamless system integration, and participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 operational support.
