Summary

Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise networks.

Job Description

Must be able to support multiple routing and switching protocols. The Network Engineer provides guidance to the technical support teams engaged in implementation and troubleshooting of hardware and software that support a wide range of systems. Must be proficient in the use of network management platforms and troubleshooting tools, such as protocol analyzers. Attends training, conferences, and seminars as needed to obtain specific hardware/software knowledge. Understands a systems approach to problem solving and process improvement involving staff. Ability to plan, architect, and document enterprise class solutions for future network growth. Possess a fundamental working knowledge of operating systems and software currently used throughout Sanford Health. Must have good communication skills both written a verbal. Network certifications a plus. Knowledge of network routing and switching hardware, as well as network security equipment and best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required in networking, computer science, information systems, or related technology field. Associate's degree with two years of equivalent work experience may be substituted for education.

Three years experience or advanced certifications in networking. Advanced knowledge of network routing and switching hardware, as well as network security equipment and best practices.

When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
